Guitar as Art Exhibit

Cranberry Burst

This was a project for an art show in Martin, Tennessee. My goal was to make this guitar mimic a guitar with a maple flame top. To do this, I used plaster to create waves across the top of the body to replicate the flame pattern. Then I applied a mix of reds, blacks, cranberry, and yellows to create this burst. I painted cream binding all around the guitar, added inlay stickers where the normal inlays would be, and added my last name to the headstock as well as a Tennessee quarter for decoration.
Below are construction pictures.
